Hartford Instrumental Parents (HIP)
Hartford Instrumental Parents exists “to stimulate and sustain interest among both parents and students in school instrumental work at high school levels.” Our objective is to provide support to the HUHS Orchestra and Band programs in many ways.
A few ways we provide support:
- Provide refreshments and assistance at concerts, parades, and other music events.
- Encourage excellence in musicianship by providing scholarships for a variety of activities from summer lessons and camps to an annual college scholarship for a graduating senior from each Band and Orchestra.
- Coordinate fundraising efforts, especially for major trips.
We are a volunteer organization, and we live by the adage, “Many hands make light work.” Volunteers are needed for various activities throughout the year.
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month, during the school year, at 6:30 p.m. in the large rehearsal hall, Room 142.
